Top Ten Challenges for the Forest Preserve

The Forest Preserve Board must:

  1. Be fiscally responsible with your tax dollars.
  2. End the current use of no bid contracts.
  3. Stop blind approval of contract change orders.
  4. Operate without contributions from special interest groups.
  5. Look into ways to roll back the 5.25% budget increase just approved.
  6. Put Stewardship of the Forest Preserve and the Citizens of DuPage first.
  7. Pass an ordinance to prohibit using tax dollars to put political signs in the Forest Preserves.
  8. Insist on the use of green products in Forest Preserve projects.
  9. Video tape all public meetings and have minutes posted within days of meeting.
  10. Develop cooperative relationships with DuPage governmental agencies so that area wide environmental problems can be solved quickly with less cost.
