Top Ten Challenges for the Forest Preserve
The Forest Preserve Board must:
- Be fiscally responsible with your tax dollars.
- End the current use of no bid contracts.
- Stop blind approval of contract change orders.
- Operate without contributions from special interest groups.
- Look into ways to roll back the 5.25% budget increase just approved.
- Put Stewardship of the Forest Preserve and the Citizens of DuPage first.
- Pass an ordinance to prohibit using tax dollars to put political signs in the Forest Preserves.
- Insist on the use of green products in Forest Preserve projects.
- Video tape all public meetings and have minutes posted within days of meeting.
- Develop cooperative relationships with DuPage governmental agencies so that area wide environmental problems can be solved quickly with less cost.
